My process of creating art has always started with a camera. It is how I like to view the world. I consider my camera like a pencil that sketches out the beginning of an idea. Photographing architecture and landscape while traveling to new places or finding new discoveries returning to familiar locations is where my stories begin. These places are collected and saved until they are called upon to help tell a narrative. I collage images together using photo apps and Photoshop by playing with foregrounds and backgrounds until I see a new reality.
These new realities are then printed on ink jet film and transferred to paper or boards where they can be altered some more using paint, ink, paper, pastel and/or wax.
I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from The Art Institute of Boston and currently live and work out of my studio in Providence Rhode Island.
